Your Monday Morning Action Plan

Making Monday, and the week ahead, work for you, is down to the appliance of three basic principles:

  1. Commitment to a goal or objective – how dedicated are you to fully delivering against any target or outcome that you have been set?

A very clear and effective strategy here is to write this down so that it is very clear, using measurable and objective language. This makes things very clear about what you are working to and is a constant reminder of what you are working towards.

  1. Focus on the goal or objective – what will you do in practical terms to get the job done?

Human nature will trick us into forgetting about the goal or pushing it to one side when we get busy. To maintain your focus, make sure that your written document is permanently visible to give you that extra boost in your efforts to get the task completed.

  1. Force of will – how much concerted and targeted action will you invest in getting the task accomplished when balanced against other, possibly competing demands on your time?

Get it firmly into your mind that only you can make this happen and that the thrill of success is yours to experience but, in the same way, the shame of non-completion is also down to you!

The three pointers above will serve as a very strong model for your staff to mirror and use in achieving their objectives and goals – always remember that their success is ultimately your success!
