Be Positive On Monday Morning
Try the following tips if Mondays are a bit of a challenge.
One; Believe a Positive Attitude is a Choice
Being positive is actually a choice, just as being negative is! The trick is to look for the positives in any situation and use these as the way forward through what might be a difficult time. When the unexpected or unwelcome happens choose how you want to feel about them.
Step Two; Throw Out the Negativity
If you want to live a positive, joyful life, you cannot be surrounded by negative people who don’t encourage your happiness.
Negative people attract negative people. To become more positive one potentially difficult aspect is ridding yourself of these who will bring you down. This also means getting rid of some of your own negative behaviours too such as eating the wrong foods, smoking too much and drinking. This may take some time and will be “work in progress” for a while but the change will improve your lifestyle and make you far more positive.
Step Three; Look For Positives
In every person, in every situation, there is something good. For most of the time this is not completely obvious and we have to look to recognise it for ourselves.
Look at challenges and issues that come your way and ask yourself where the good lies in what you are facing. Every problem or issue contains some element of good hidden within it and every person who you work with, despite how they come across, has good or positive features within them – it’s just that you have not seen this yet.
Everything good and bad is a learning experience!
Step Four; Reinforce Positivity in Yourself
After making the change breakthrough in your behaviour and approach keep practicing the approaches above – the more you do this the more ingrained it becomes and the more natural it will feel.
The best and easiest way to do this is to be positive when it comes to who you are. Tell yourself that you have real strengths, that you present well and that you consistently deliver against your targets. Be honest with yourself, but do your best to look for the good but never focus on the negative.
Step Five; Share Positivity with Others
You must be positive with yourself for this to work but you also need to be positive with others. Be nice to other people, no matter what. Always strive to be encouraging and supportive and this will be returned to you to boost your own self-image.
Believe in yourself and remember the most important lesson of all: A positive outlook is a choice that you can always make.
